British Airways to provide complimentary fast onboard wifi via space-based agreement
Travelers on British Airways can soon enjoy high-speed internet in the air free of charge after a new agreement from Elon Musk's space firm.
Free plus High-speed Wifi Across the Board
The airline stated that this complimentary, “fast and dependable” connectivity offering through SpaceX becomes offered to customers in economy, business, or first class starting the coming month.
Broad Deployment Throughout Multiple Flight Operators
The umbrella company for British Airways, the airline group, announced it had finalized an partnership involving Starlink to provide wifi services across 500-plus jets within their operators, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
Uninterrupted Wifi starting at Boarding to Arrival
BA stated that this rollout for the system was part of a £7bn “modernization” initiative that will offer uninterrupted wifi service to passengers from boarding through landing, including when they are flying over seas and remote regions.
